Yakir founded New Spirit and served as its CEO between 2004-2007, and then as co – chair with Nir Barkat, until 2009. Yakir served as the president of the student union of the Hebrew university and as a member of Jerusalem’s city council. In recent years, Yakir held the position of Director General of the Magid Institute, the Chairman and Acting Director of Academon, and as founder and CEO of various companies. Recently, Yakir published together with Rabbi Benny Lau “Kol Ehad Mimkomo – the guide for Jewish rituals”. Currently, Yakir is the CEO and entrepreneur of the “Kulam initiative”, designed to help young Jews in Israel and diaspora to engage with Judaism through diverse online content. Yakir holds a BA in economics, philosophy and political science from Hebrew University.
